The best designs are completely inconspicuous. They exist to help users complete their tasks smoothly and efficiently, and they do so discreetly while remaining unnoticed. To create such experiences designers do not make arbitrary decisions. Behind the simplicity of good design lies the study of patterns in human behavior and of human psychology.
