According to the Bayesian Brain Hypothesis, your brain is a Bayesian statistician. Our brains are self-organizing systems constantly computing probabilities. We have an internal model of the world that gets updated when an error is detected. The error is a discrepancy between our expectations and the evidence we receive through our sensory experience.
