Too Long; Didn't Read

The family safety app Life360 announced on Wednesday that it would stop selling precise location data. Decision comes after The Markup revealed that Life360 was supplying up to a dozen data brokers. The San Francisco-based company plans to go public in the U.S. this year. Life360 will still be selling location data to the firm Placer.ai but in aggregate rather than raw, precise form, CEO Chris Hulls said. The company made an additional $6 million through its deal with Allstate’s Arity, a “mobility data and analytics” firm owned by Allstate.
